Phoenix Hawk LAM - Lt Amdecker, 7th Sword of Light Circa 3025

I keep coming back to LAM's as I work thru the old school lore.  Apparently back in the 80's mechs which convert from air to ground modes were all the rage - I know I know, macross inspired (stolen) ideas etc but they seem like they are all over the lore despite how rare they reportedly were.  Whatever the reason I had a new set of sculpts for LAMs and a need to fill out a composite regimental command lance of one-off pilot entries and so I went back to the LAM well on this one - a PHX-HK2 Phoenix Hawk LAM assigned to the 7th Sword of Light.

In this case the pilot, Lt Albert Amdecker (and yes it should be Chu-i but this is the original 3025 TRO content) was actually an aero-jock in 3017 at the Battle of Suk.  Things did not go well on the Kurita side and Amdecker found himself one of the few survivors in the assault force, having his entire squadron downed around him in the action.  For his bravery he was promoted to lead the 14th Air Lance of the 7th Sword of Light.

This is a curious notation, and probably means squadron or company in real terms since an Air Lance is just 2 units; and further indicates that at least in the Sword of Light the air units are being reinforced with the LAM units as opposed to just aerospace fights.

You will notice in this photo staging I have included in the foreground of a few of the photos a Schrek PPC carrier which had misprinted.  Instead of throwing the units which are misprinted I salvage what I can for these 'dead unit' markers.  It serves a few purposes, it allows me to not waste printed minis which are below my quality standards for addition to the regular forces, gives the game board some visual depth during game play by marking out where units died (I will eventually print some with smoke to dedicate ammo explosions and add some additional flavor to games) and allows me to test paint schemes on units which I don't care about.  In this case a generic gray pattern I was testing for future projects,

This was a quick one to cleanse the pallet before I get into some more GDL associated projects.  This is the 3rd one off (not associated to a lance or company) mech in the SoL colors - which means just one more and I have a regimental command lance completed.  I already have the next one picked out - a fan favorite which almost everyone will recognize.
