88th Vegan Mechanized - Mechanized Infantry Bn

I do love the infantry.  When playing the more advanced rules they can actually be pretty effective in some roles, and as I was looking at how to expand my collection I realized several things:  First - infantry are basically static across eras so infantry mini's age really well across different periods of table top play.  Secondly there are some really cool proxy-able APC units out there that make creating interesting infantry bases easy and kinda fun to create.  And finally its economical to do this silly huge projects now that I can 3D print infantry - and since Wakes Emporium was kind enough to design some great proxies for Kurita infantry I dove straight in. Essentially I had already decided to do the 88th Vegan Mechanized because they are associated to the Legion of Vega and I thought it was kind of a cool unit name and as I got to looking at it I decided I wanted a full company of each infantry type to have on hand to play - so a battalion was born. 1st Battalion - 5th Sword Of Light

This is the first complete battalion formation for the Sword of Light Brigade.  Its a compilation of 4 projects I did in the past two years:  Sorenson's Sabers, Crimson Blade Co, and the Blades of Death Co. with a Kurita Combat Manual 'Standard Command Lance'.  This is a 100% lore compliant TO&E for a 5th Sword of Light Battalion, the first in what will be a complete regiment.  Love Live the Dragon!

5th SoL Battalion Command Lance

The final installment of a completed Battalion of the 5th Sword of Light.  There are a number of sources I could have drawn from for this lance, but in the end I choose to go with a Kurita Combat Manual standard lance type - command lance of course - to complete this battalion.  I placed them on the contested world of Northwind in 3028 and aligned this with the late succession wars period standard lance. No extra special lore - just representing a 'standard' lance type of the late succession wars.  The Kurita Combat Manual says this lance most commonly consisted of a Cyclops, Dragon, Panther and a Catapult.  In this case I went with the Kurita K2 variant.
