DCMS Unit Logos - Non-Cannon

 So if you have been on this blog much you know I am obsessed with support units; infantry, Armor, artillery - its what makes Battletech so great; you can simulate entire conflicts in campaigns spanning months of combat if you wanted to.  As my collection grows I decided to create a series of unit logos for my support regiments in the DCMS.  Since I am building this around a Sword of Light Regiment I mostly choose from that, with a few exceptions.

The 3rd Luthien Guards; known as the Stormwalkers, were an armor regiment assigned to the 2nd Sword of Light regiment.  

The 25th Light Horse Regiment actually only gets a very short mention in the defense of Vega under Teddy Kurita  In the novel Heir to the Dragon he is said to have directed the 25th Light Horse away from the advancing Lyrans due to the light weight of there armor forces indicating a light and medium unit, perhaps with hover craft.

The 71st Mechanized was an infantry unit assigned to the 2nd Sword of Light and received more attention in the latest TRO series covering infantry.  They are notably assigned a field artillery battalion.

201st Pesht Assault Team is assigned in support of the 3rd Proserpina Hussars and also received some additional notoriety from the TRO covering infantry, notably the fast recon hover mounted engineers of the recon battalion.

The 45th Reconnaissance Regiment; the Sappers; is an infantry unit assigned to the 7th Sword of Light, notable for its use of VTOLs in urban environments.

The 82nd Galedon Artillery Battalion is a Demi-Regiment sized formation of the Galedon Military District who served on Galtor in the campaign there before the 4th Succession War.  Notable for its mix of artillery (2 companies) and liberal recon assets to spot for there artillery crews, the 82nd Galedon is one of only 2 artillery units expressly mentioned in the Lore for the DCMS. The other also served at Galtor; the 512th Imperial Artillery.

I did take some creative license with this one - the Galtor book has the older Galedon logo with 82 on it, but I wanted to separate the unit from there Mech based counterparts.

The 4th Dragon Battalion (Field Gun Infantry) This one is a unique addition.  In the old periodical Challenge magazine #38 in 1989 there was an article first describing how to employ field guns in Battletech.  While the rules are not what eventually was adopted as part of the article the author invented field gun battalions for each house - the 4th Dragon Battalion was one such unit in the DCMS.  Fielding only 4 platoons of field guns and backed up by 2 motorized infantry platoons in 2 companies the battalion also fields a company of light vehicles to aid in holding ground.  

Moroushi's Independent Assault Battalion was a unit used as a holding and distracting force during the Galtor Campaign in 3025.  Consisting of a reinforced battalion this unit was deployed to Marduk and suffered 90% casualties.
